About Galapagos Safari Camp
Galapagos Safari Camp is a family-owned, land-based luxury safari camp on a private 55-hectare (135-acre) nature reserve in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, bordering the Galápagos National Park.
Inspired by the African safari model, it was founded in 2007 by Michael Mesdag and Stephanie Bonham-Carter. It was the first safari camp in Latin America and remains the only luxury safari camp in the Galápagos Islands.
Their all-inclusive, tailor-made Safaris include private excursions on Santa Cruz and shared or semi-private boat excursions to uninhabited islands, offering a flexible alternative to fixed-itinerary cruises and group tours. The Camp also receives consistently high praise for the dining experience and warm hospitality.
Suited to couples, families and multi-generational travellers who seek a deeper, more intimate way to experience the islands. The Safaris can also be tailored to the individual needs and interests within a group, and guests are carefully paired with expert naturalist guides.
Accommodation includes 7 African-inspired ensuite Safari Tents, 2 two-bedroom/two-bathroom Family Safari Tents and 1 three-bedroom/three-bathroom Family Villa Suite.
Rooted in the philosophy of Appropriate Luxury, life at Camp balances comfort with a close connection to nature. Giant tortoises roam the property, and the Camp overlooks the Galapagos National Park and Pacific Ocean.
Galapagos Safari Camp also arranges safari extensions to mainland Ecuador, including the Andes, Amazon, Cloud Forest, Quito and Guayaquil.
